“Unconditional Surrender,” is a 25-foot tall WWII commemorative statue that stands at Mole Park in San Diego through 2007. It is based on the famous photo shot by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a Sailor and nurse kissing in Times Square, New York City, following the V-J Day announcement.
Behind the statue is the USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that is open to the public for tours.
Other prints are available for purchase at the On Focus Photo Store.
