On Focus Photo was formed in 2007, by me, Christy Varonfakis Johnson. My goal is to provide you with high-quality artistic prints that highlight beauty in the ordinary, day-to-day, business of living.
Throughout most of the site I'll refer to "our" or "we," but right now it's pretty much a one-man operation, and that man is me, or rather, that woman is me. And yes, I personally shoot all of the pictures on the site.
My story in a nutshell:
My husband and I lived in southern California until 2005, when we loaded up the cats and the computers and relocated to the Pacific Northwest. I've been taking pictures since I was six years old. I went to photography school in 2002, when I was substantially older than six, and completed one-third of the program before running out of money. My favorite color is blue and I am as passionate about writing as I am about photography.
My work in a nutshell:
When you purchase a print, you are receiving the product of many hours of work. From finding the scene, to capturing the intended moment, to cleaning the print of dust and scratches, to sizing and digital tweaking -- it is an involved and conscientious process. I consider your purchase an investment and as such aim to create a high quality product that will stay relevant and provide enjoyment for many years.
